- Families: To stay informed in their child’s education
Why Seesaw?
- Digital learning platform and student portfolio (saves work all in one place)
- Enables students to document their work and share using multimedia
- Promotes engagement between students, teachers, and families
Seesaw is a digital portfolio and communication tool that empowers students to document their learning, reflect on their progress, and share their work with teachers and families. Seesaw allows educators to provide feedback in real time. Students are able to upload videos, photos, drawings, text, links, recordings, etc. These features allow students the ability to be creative in personalized ways.
In the classroom seesaw is often used for student journals, reflection activities, progress tracking, and home to school communication. Teachers can assign activities and give instant feedback which involve families by sharing student work. As well the app is kid friendly making it easy for younger students to navigate independently.
* When completing student teaching I saw first hand the positive effect Seesaw had on students at the Pre-K level. When a student was absent, parents were still able to view work for their child and communicate with the teacher all from the comfort of their own home.
